Kurtis Ebeling
Gingko
with all their cluttered swaying
the leaves lift intricate
as scales and turn together
in the soft way a dress turns
or wild geese in the wind—
beneath them a shoe
holding a pair of jade earrings
waits in the shade and grass
Kurtis Ebeling is a writer and educator living in Spokane, Washington. He’s an MA in English and MFA in Creative writing graduate from EWU, a founding coeditor for Croak—a themed lit mag that publishes frog inspired works—and a previous poetry editor for Willow Springs. His poetry has been published with a number of journals, including Art of Nothing Press, Pictura Journal, The Dewdrop, and Wild Roof Journal. He also has work forthcoming at Crab Creek Review.
