About TPC Review

TPC Review is an annual journal of poetry published by Taipei Poetry Collective and launched in 2024.

Our Mission

TPC Review showcases our global community of writers’s visions for the future. We want poetry that revels in being on the page, yet seeks to live outside of it. We like poems that express hope, take pleasure in the ordinary, embrace the weird. We like poems where every word was clearly considered. Short or medium-length, we prefer detail and polish; we encourage submissions from poets who pay attention.

We welcome all forms of poetry: blank verse, traditional, experimental, prose poetry, erasure poetry, concrete poetry, found poetry, etc. If the work is polished, thoughtful, and shows you’ve revised it (many times) then we’d love to read it. If there is a theme to the issue, we prioritize – and are more likely to publish – poems that are in conversation with the theme.

Our Aesthetic

We are looking for poetic value beyond the form and rhyme. Craft needs content.

(unless ofc it’s a prose poem)

Our sweet spot:
– Poems under one page that demonstrate careful attention to craft, such as form, structure, syntax, figurative language, and prosody; poems that nudge our conception of what a poem can do.
– Submissions that really chew on the theme (when applicable).
– Packets of three poems that butt up against or snuggle into each other, are in conversation with an overarching something.
– We are looking for new ideas, not replications of poems in previous issues. That is one reason we appreciate unpublished poets: they sometimes surprise us with their framing, make us want to throw things across the room, or squeal!
